Design journey
We had the opportunity to create a wet room from an empty space within a loft conversion that DBR Interiors had also completed. The space could’ve otherwise acted as a closet or a utility room. However, having converted the attic in to a master bedroom, the space was ideal for an ensuite bathroom.
Opting for a wet room rather than a standard ensuite bathroom has its advantages. It adds a luxurious feel to your home, it can add value to your home and it’s easy access (rather than having to step into a bath or shower tray). We added a glass partition to protect the rest of the wet room from the shower area.
We used tiles from the popular Porcelanosa Rodano Caliza range. These tiles are suitable for both wall and floors. See more of our Porcelanosa tile range on our website. We also added the Linear tiles from the Rodano Caliza selection as a feature wall.
The shower installed was a waterfall style-shower. Choosing this type of showerhead for the wet room adds to the purpose of the room and we made sure the modern theme ran through by adding a back-to-wall toilet with a concealed cistern.
There was enough space in the room to add furniture so we installed a wall-hung vanity unit with a vessel sink and a wall-mounted mixer tap. A vessel sink is one that sits on the surface of the wall vanity unit and again this added to the luxurious feel of the room. We also added a back-lit LED mirror with a demister and a shaving point.
To complete the ensuite and the loft conversion we added sliding doors instead of a traditional door.
