This kitchen has been one of our favourites and we’ve enjoyed every minute of it, from the design state all the way to the finishing touches. The furniture is one of our Second Nature kitchens and it’s from the Mornington range. The property has amazing tall Victorian ceilings, so we opted for the extra tall wall units to keep with this theme.
The shaker beaded cabinets and island have all been custom sprayed in from Farrow and Ball, one of our favourite suppliers of paint and wallpaper. We used two contrasting colours from the Farrow and Ball range:
The worktop on the island and the cabinets is made from a material called Silestone Helix. We continued this theme on to the splash back and also created a bespoke sink, made from this very same material.
The splash back surrounds the Smeg range gas cooker and we were able to integrate other Smeg appliances for the client. Around the cooker we installed a bespoke chimney breast with an integrated extraction hood and under cabinet spotlights to highlight the amazing worktop.
There’s plenty of storage in this kitchen, but to maximise the space in the room we created a bespoke seating area underneath the shuttered windows. There are additional cupboards underneath the seating area, but the main purpose was to create an additional area for seating. The client opted for chairs around the island too and coupled with the size of the kitchen, it makes a great area for entertaining as well as cooking.
On the end of the island we made a bespoke serving table in a similar style to the rest of the furniture. In contrast to the island worktop, the worktop of the serving table was made from stained solid oak.
Additional features include a larder pull out, a hanging feature light and an integrated Sonos sound system. Last but not least we installed a Herringbone oak smoked and lacquered floor, one of our most favourite features of this kitchen!
