Our client called upon us to modernise their bathroom, which included white fitted furniture, grey marble effect walls and a large bath that swallowed a lot of the floor space. There was already a large window in the room, which allowed in a lot of light, making it a bright space.
Our intention with a modern bathroom is to try and make it look as sleek and as minimalistic as possible. The client opted to get rid of the bath and replace it with a double walk in shower. Although this may sound as if it would take up more space in the bathroom, the glass shower screens gave the illusion the room was bigger than it actually is. We also installed a waterfall shower and a digital thermostat, which added to the modern feel of the bathroom.
The client opted for furniture from the Roper Rhodes Scheme range. Matt Clay was the colour chosen from this collection, a dark, almost black colour, with a contrasting white basin. To keep with a minimalistic theme we only installed one wall-hung unit and brought the wall behind the toilet forward. Choosing the wall-hung unit created the illusion of having more floor space. Within this wall we created two small alcoves. These alcoves were designed to create a focal point using a feature background and can be used for additional storage or decoration.
One of the main focal points, and our favourite part, was the flooring the client chose. Both the floor and wall tiles were from Porcelanosa. The wall tiles came in the colour silver and the unique floor tiles are called Antique silver. The same floor tiles were used as a feature tile in the alcoves.
To showcase some of the amazing features in the Scheme bathroom, we installed some LED spotlights and strip lighting. The spotlights light up the two small alcoves above the toilet. The LED strip lighting was installed around the top of the ceiling and can be seen in the pictures below lighting up the shower area.
Other features included a Plaza flush button for the toilet and a chrome towel warmer, which was placed in front of the shower.
